Staff development activity 2010-11

In terms of support for e-learning, we hope we can offer something which is not being offered elsewhere.  Our events and forums will be:

We hope that we can demystify some elements of e-learning and ILT and help you simplify processes and procedures.  Our aim is to target our staff development programme at what is relevant to you and bring you training days, workshops and forums which are timely, appropriately targeted and beneficial to you organisation both in terms of e-learning and improved efficiency of delivery.  We wish to complement the offer from our fellow JISC Advance organisations and from other national bodies such as LSIS.

National CETTs Mentoring Compendium

Some highlights from work done by the different Centres for Excellence in Teacher Training (CETTs) across the regions have now been drawn together to create a National CETTs Mentoring Compendium, now available via the Excellence Gateway.  The brief flyer outlines what the Mentoring Compendium is, who it is for and what it offers.

eCPD Programme Professional Development Advisor (PDA)

The new eCPD Programme commissioned by the Learning and Skills Improvement Service ( LSIS) is an exciting new opportunity for practitioners in the FE and skills system to support and enhance learning through the effective use of technology. The programme will help meet the new Ofsted inspection criteria and the IfL 30 hour or pro rata CPD requirements.

New guidance available on workforce reforms

In September 2007 the government introduced reforms to the education and development of teachers in England. The Further Education Workforce Reforms include the introduction of a new professional status and associated qualifications for teachers, tutors and trainers, and apply to organisations delivering learning programmes funded by the Learning and Skills Council ( LSC). Lifelong Learning UK, together with partners, has created guidance to explain how the reforms impact on those who deliver Adult and Community Learning, Offender Learning, and who deliver learning in the Third Sector. ITQ and e-skills Passport

ITQ is a flexible training and qualification programme, equipping users with relevant and effective IT user skills. The e-skills Passport is an online skills management system that helps you establish your current IT and technology skills, build a plan to improve them and gain a relevant qualification.
