RSCs – Stimulating and Supporting Innovation in Learning
WHAT are these sessions about? JISC Digital Media are providing fortnightly one-hour online help and support sessions to answer any queries you have regarding digital media.
Queries regarding any aspect of still images, moving images (including video), audio and how they can be used for teaching and learning are welcome. We will answer technical, workflow-related or general queries, and there is no limit to the number of queries that can be asked. No query is too simple to be explored.
Some scheduled sessions will have themes and include short presentations by members of the service followed by question and answer time.
WHO should participate?
Anyone who works in UK further education (FE) or higher education (HE) who would like help with digital media. If you are unsure how to create podcasts, need to improve your image capture, digitise that stack of VHS under your desk or need to use digital media for teaching and learning, then these sessions are for you.
HOW does it work?
Visit this webpage on the scheduled Wednesday at 1.30pm for the link directing you to the online session. We will be using the online tool Elluminate - please make sure you visit their handy Elluminate test page to check that your browser has all it needs. Once you have joined the session, introduce yourself and then fire away. We'll primarily be interacting using the text chat tool so you will not need speakers/mic for queries however speakers/headset will be required to listen to the themed sessions - where possible we will provide a live transcript.

Schedule and archive of sessions
Each session will be begin with a short presentation on a specific topic and then the rest of the session will be free for questions and answers (not limited to the session's topic).
